Best Way Technologies, Inc. (BWTI) has recently released version 3.1. of its multi-carrier shipping suite, ProShip. The ProShip Suite provides power, scalability, flexibility, multiple configuration controls, with an easy to use end user interface in one cost effective solution. It features rate shopping among multiple carriers including DHL (formerly DHL express and Airborne express), FedEx (express and ground), USPS, UPS, LTL as well as “custom” rated carriers.

With client and server side scripting ProShip enables shipping departments to implement the most demanding business rules. Data can be retrieved from nearly any database or system; including AS400s, SAP, BAAN, Great Plains, People Soft, Oracle Financials, or any similar CRM/order entry system. Business rules can be applied on a case by case basis or to all shipments. Upon completion of the shipment, information can be sent back to the order entry system, as well as other systems such as an accounting database.

Professional installation is included with most purchase options of ProShip 3.1, including completion the scripting of a customers business rules. As business rules change, additional scripting can be done by BWTI’s highly trained personnel or by the customer’s in-house IT.

This scalable suite allows roll outs of single-carrier or multi-carrier systems on 1 to 1000+ work stations using the ProShip Courier Watchdog component. The redundant model of ProShip Courier Watch Dog 3.0 has lowered processing overhead to allow even greater scalability. ProShip Courier Watch Dog has been used to serve ProShip clients from one end of the country to the other.

The ProShip Distribution Center Client (ProShip DCC) incorporates a profile system that allows one installation to look, feel and act completely different based on the needs of the customer. Some customers require their LTL stations to look and feel different than their small parcel stations. Other customers have shipping stations located in multiple warehouses, in different parts of the country, set up uniquely based on the various products being shipped in each location. With the ProShip DCC, customers can have it all with one client.

When a dedicated shipping work station is not required, such as “desktop shipping”, BWTI offers the ProShip Web Client (ProShip WC). Realize shipping across an enterprise using the same rate tables. Enable centralized accounting of all desk top shipments.

For automated systems integration, BWTI offers the ProShip Conveyor Client (ProShip CC). ProShip CC is designed to integrate into conveyors or on the back end of in house projects.

Both ProShip DCC and ProShip WC can be tailored to a customer’s unique needs, enabling the user interfaces to be as simple or as flexible as needed. Changes to either interface are simple to make, and can be completed quickly by either BWTI personnel or in-house IT.
